Traveloka and Marriott International have signed a multi-year distribution agreement that establishes Traveloka as Marriott's Certified Online Travel Partner, creating direct connectivity between Marriott's hotel inventory and Traveloka's online distribution platform. Announced on July 2, 2026, the agreement expands the visibility of Marriott's global portfolio for travelers across Indonesia and Southeast Asia while strengthening the company's regional distribution presence.
Through the partnership, Marriott's portfolio of approximately 10,000 properties across 146 countries and territories will be connected directly to Traveloka's online distribution platform. The integration enables travelers to access real-time pricing and broader inventory availability when discovering, comparing, and booking Marriott properties. The portfolio available through the platform includes luxury brands such as JW Marriott and W Hotels, premium brands including Westin and Sheraton, and select-service brands such as Moxy and Aloft.
The agreement comes as Southeast Asia continues to emerge as one of the world's fastest-growing travel markets. According to information shared by Traveloka, the region's tourism sector is projected to grow from USD 35.5 billion in 2025 to USD 67.4 billion by 2031 while accounting for 15.4% of global travel demand. The direct connection between Marriott and Traveloka is intended to elevate the visibility of Marriott properties on a high-growth regional platform, enhance speed-to-market, and improve engagement with travelers across Indonesia and Southeast Asia.
Traveloka also reported strong growth in demand for Marriott properties through its platform in recent months. Searches for Marriott hotels have increased significantly, while travelers across the region are increasingly booking Marriott stays in Asia Pacific, including Indonesia's key cities. Four Points properties in Makassar, Surabaya, Medan, and Bandung are among the hotels leading bookings, alongside Sheraton and Marriott Hotels. Traveloka said the increase in searches and bookings signals rising regional appetite for Marriott's portfolio across the market.
John Toomey, Chief Commercial Officer, Asia Pacific excluding China at Marriott International, said Indonesia remains one of the company's most significant markets in the region, with considerable opportunities to expand its presence and connect more travelers with its portfolio of brands and experiences. He said the collaboration with Traveloka strengthens Marriott's ability to engage travelers throughout their booking journey while making discovery and booking more seamless. He added that Traveloka serves as an important strategic partner in broadening Marriott's reach, unlocking new opportunities, and delivering greater choice and convenience for travelers across Indonesia.
Marriott currently operates nearly 90 properties across Indonesia and continues to expand through a robust development pipeline. Across Southeast Asia, the company is also growing its presence in markets including Vietnam, Thailand, and Malaysia, supported by continued investments through 2030.
For Traveloka, the agreement expands direct connectivity with one of the world's largest hospitality companies while adding Marriott's portfolio to its online distribution platform. Founded in 2012, Traveloka operates across Australia, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam. The company has recorded more than 140 million app downloads and provides access to more than two million hotels worldwide alongside flights, activities, travel insurance, and eSIM services.
Yady Guitana, Chief Financial Officer of Traveloka, said the company increasingly focuses on understanding traveler intent before booking decisions are finalized. He said Marriott's decision to expand access to its portfolio through Traveloka reflects the trust global travel brands place in the platform's regional reach and traveler insight across Southeast Asia. According to Guitana, combining Marriott's portfolio with Traveloka's regional data and AI-powered recommendations enables the platform to deliver a more relevant booking experience while supporting Marriott's continued growth in the region.
The partnership also reinforces Traveloka's position as a growth partner for global travel brands seeking to engage Southeast Asia's active travel market. By combining Marriott's portfolio with Traveloka's technology, regional reach, and traveler insights, both companies aim to create greater value for travelers while contributing to the continued growth of the region's tourism ecosystem. The direct connectivity established through the agreement also provides Marriott with expanded visibility across Traveloka's regional platform as the hospitality company continues its development across Indonesia and Southeast Asia.
