UBUD, Bali, Indonesia — Swiss-Belhotel International has expanded its presence in Indonesia’s hospitality market with the soft opening of Ashva Swiss-Belresort Ubud, a new five-star resort developed in partnership with PT Ratna Forever Hospitality. The property represents another milestone in the company's growth strategy in Bali and is scheduled for its grand opening in September 2026, reinforcing the group's long-term commitment to one of Southeast Asia's most resilient hospitality markets. The announcement was made by Swiss-Belhotel International through its official press release.
The addition of Ashva Swiss-Belresort Ubud reflects Swiss-Belhotel International's continued portfolio expansion within Indonesia's premium hospitality segment, with Bali remaining a strategic destination for the company's regional development plans. Positioned in Ubud, a destination widely recognized for its cultural heritage and natural landscapes, the new resort is designed to strengthen the company's presence in a market that continues to attract demand for upscale accommodation and experience-focused hospitality offerings.
Developed as a five-star resort, Ashva Swiss-Belresort Ubud combines international hospitality standards with facilities intended to serve multiple travel segments. The property has been designed to accommodate multi-generational families, couples, and guests seeking immersive stays while also supporting the broader objective of expanding premium hospitality infrastructure in Bali. The resort enters operations through a soft opening during July and August 2026 before transitioning to full operations following its grand opening in September.
For Swiss-Belhotel International, the opening also represents another step in strengthening relationships with local development partners. The project was developed together with PT Ratna Forever Hospitality, reflecting continued collaboration between international hotel operators and Indonesian hospitality investors to expand high-quality accommodation offerings in key tourism destinations.
Sudharman Shetty, Founder, Owner, and President Director of PT Ratna Forever Hospitality, described the development as a strategic initiative to expand the company's hospitality business while supporting the growth of quality tourism in Ubud. He noted that the project combines Ubud's natural beauty, cultural heritage, and attractions with international service standards, with the objective of establishing Ashva Swiss-Belresort Ubud as a preferred destination for domestic and international travellers while contributing to the local community and economy.
The project also aligns with Swiss-Belhotel International's broader international expansion strategy. Gavin M. Faull, Chairman and President of Swiss-Belhotel International, said Indonesia remains a cornerstone of the company's global growth vision. He highlighted that the development reflects the confidence of PT Ratna Forever Hospitality in Swiss-Belhotel International's operational approach while demonstrating the company's confidence in Indonesia's hospitality market, particularly within the segment seeking spacious and lifestyle-oriented resort experiences.
Ashva Swiss-Belresort Ubud has been developed with a contemporary resort concept that incorporates cultural influences into its overall design. The property offers 90 guestrooms and suites together with four exclusive wooden pavilions. Accommodation sizes range from 40 square metres to 106 square metres, enabling the resort to cater to families, groups, and longer-stay guests requiring more spacious room configurations. Selected premium room categories also include private heated plunge pools and smart in-room technology.
The food and beverage offering consists of Giwangkara All Day Dining alongside Udupi Multi-Cuisine Restaurant. The latter includes a dedicated kitchen section exclusively for pure vegetarian food preparation, expanding the property's culinary capabilities while accommodating specific dining requirements.
Beyond leisure facilities, the resort has also been positioned to serve corporate and event demand. Its facilities include a grand ballroom, flexible meeting venues, and outdoor event spaces designed for business meetings, weddings, and social gatherings. These facilities complement the resort's terraced swimming pool concept with cascading water features and the Petanu Pool Bar overlooking Ubud's natural landscape, creating a destination capable of supporting multiple business segments beyond traditional leisure accommodation.
The inclusion of meeting and event infrastructure reflects Swiss-Belhotel International's strategy of broadening revenue opportunities through diversified hospitality offerings. Rather than focusing solely on transient leisure guests, the property has been designed to accommodate corporate functions and organised events, allowing the resort to participate in multiple demand segments within Bali's hospitality market.
Ilkin Ilyaszade, Senior Vice President – Operations and Development, Indonesia at Swiss-Belhotel International, said Bali remains one of the company's most important destinations due to its resilience and long-term growth potential. He added that the opening of Ashva Swiss-Belresort Ubud supports Swiss-Belhotel International's continued expansion across Indonesia while positioning the property to capture increasing demand for premium corporate meetings, weddings, and large-scale social events through its facilities and location.
The resort will operate under introductory conditions during its soft opening period throughout July and August 2026, offering guests exclusive introductory rates before officially launching in September 2026. This phased opening approach allows the property to commence operations while preparing for its full commercial launch later in the year. Reservations are available through the resort's official booking platform during the soft opening period.
The opening further expands Swiss-Belhotel International's operational footprint across Indonesia as the company continues managing hotels, resorts, and hospitality projects across multiple international markets. According to company information included in the announcement, Swiss-Belhotel International operates in 20 countries with more than 165 hotels, resorts, and projects, supported by regional offices throughout Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. The addition of Ashva Swiss-Belresort Ubud reinforces the company's ongoing portfolio growth in Indonesia while strengthening its presence in Bali's premium hospitality segment.
