Rixos Phu Quoc Vietnam has appointed Stefano Capaccetti as General Manager as the resort moves into its pre-opening phase on Hon Thom Island. Capaccetti joined the property in August 2026 and will oversee operations, team development and guest experience ahead of the resort’s opening.
The appointment comes as Rixos Hotels prepares to establish its first property in Southeast Asia. Rixos Phu Quoc is planned with 1,500 rooms and 24 restaurants and bars, positioning the development as a large-scale addition to the group’s international portfolio. Capaccetti’s role covers the operational development of the resort as it progresses toward opening.
For Rixos, the appointment brings a senior executive with 15 years of experience within the hotel group, including assignments involving hotel openings, resort operations and leadership across international markets. His previous positions within Rixos have included general management, special projects and cluster management, with responsibilities spanning properties and developments in several countries.
Capaccetti most recently served as General Manager of Rixos Qetaifan North in Doha. In that role, he led the property through its opening ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The assignment involved taking the resort through its opening phase before moving into operations.
Before his position in Doha, Capaccetti served as Special Project Manager in the Rixos Group President’s Office in Dubai. His earlier Rixos responsibilities included General Manager of Rixos Premium Dubai Jumeirah Beach Residence and leadership roles at The Land of Legends Theme Park in Antalya.
His experience within the group also includes cluster management responsibilities for Rixos President Astana and Rixos Borovoe in Kazakhstan. These assignments formed part of a career with Rixos that has covered different operating environments and markets.
Capaccetti’s hospitality career began with operational positions at Rezidor, including Radisson Blu Resort & Spa Dubrovnik Sun Gardens. He later moved into senior operational roles with Hilton, serving as Director of Operations at Hilton Glasgow and Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik. At Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik, he was involved in the hotel’s opening.
Earlier in his career, Capaccetti served as Food & Beverage Manager during the opening of Hilton Rome Airport. His professional background therefore includes operational responsibilities across both established hotels and properties entering their opening stages.
The appointment at Rixos Phu Quoc takes place while the resort advances through its pre-opening development. As General Manager, Capaccetti will be responsible for preparing the resort’s operations and team while overseeing the guest experience ahead of the property’s launch.
The scale of the planned development places operational preparation alongside the broader expansion of the Rixos brand. With 1,500 rooms and 24 restaurants and bars planned, the Phu Quoc property will represent a significant addition to the Rixos portfolio when it opens.
The resort will also serve as Rixos Hotels’ debut in Southeast Asia. The move expands the brand’s geographical presence into a new regional market as Rixos continues developing its international footprint.
Established in 2000, Rixos Hotels currently owns and operates seven premium resorts and villas and five city hotels across markets including Turkey, Croatia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Libya. The group is based in Antalya and focuses on Turkish hospitality and spa experiences within its hotel portfolio.

The development of Rixos Phu Quoc adds a new Southeast Asian market to the Rixos network while the property prepares for its opening on Hon Thom Island.
