Preferred Hotels & Resorts has expanded its global independent hotel portfolio with the addition of 10 new member properties between April 1 and June 30, 2026, reinforcing its presence in key leisure destinations while strengthening its network across Southeast Asia and other international markets. Announced on July 28, 2026, the expansion includes new member hotels in Indonesia, Portugal, Italy, Belgium, Ireland, Kenya, the United Arab Emirates, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, with Indonesia representing the company's Southeast Asian addition during the second quarter.
The latest portfolio expansion was announced by Preferred Hotels & Resorts, the world's largest independent hotel brand, as part of its continued strategy to broaden its collection of independent luxury properties. The new additions span multiple collections under the company's portfolio, including L.V.X. Collection, Lifestyle Collection, Legend Collection, and Preferred Residences, offering hotel owners and operators broader representation within the global independent hospitality market.
The Southeast Asian expansion is represented by The Meru Sanur in Denpasar, Bali, which joins the L.V.X. Collection. Located along Sanur Beach, the property offers 184 suites and operates within The Sanur, Indonesia's first special economic zone dedicated to health and wellness tourism. The location combines traditional Balinese wellness practices with modern medical science, positioning the resort within one of Indonesia's specialized tourism development initiatives.
The Meru Sanur integrates wellness, cultural experiences, and contemporary design throughout its operations. The beachfront property includes Taru Pramana Spa & Wellness, where treatments are inspired by traditional Balinese healing methods. Additional programming includes mindfulness experiences, wellness journeys, and curated activities designed around physical and mental wellbeing. The property's location also places guests close to the commercial and tourism center of Sanur while maintaining direct beachfront access.
For Preferred Hotels & Resorts, adding The Meru Sanur expands the company's representation within Southeast Asia's wellness tourism segment while strengthening its independent luxury portfolio in Indonesia. The addition also aligns with the company's strategy of incorporating properties that reflect local identity through design, cultural programming, and destination-specific experiences.
Beyond Southeast Asia, the company's newest members extend its portfolio across several international markets. In the Caribbean, The Botany in Saint Thomas joins the L.V.X. Collection ahead of its planned winter debut. Situated within the 300-acre Preserve at Botany Bay, the resort will feature 20 villa-style accommodations overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Facilities include two swimming pools with poolside bars, a spa, wellness activities, nature experiences, and Caribbean-inspired dining concepts designed to highlight the destination's local flavors.
Africa is represented through Ilora Retreats in Kenya's Masai Mara National Reserve. Joining the Lifestyle Collection, the luxury safari camp occupies 30 acres of protected wilderness and includes 14 tented suites. The property offers wildlife-focused experiences including game drives, bush walks, hot air balloon safaris, wildlife photography, and cultural engagement with the local Maasai community alongside spa facilities and personalized hospitality services.
Europe accounts for several of the quarter's new additions. Via Antwerp joins the Lifestyle Collection in Belgium, bringing a 176-room property inspired by the city's Art Nouveau heritage. Located in Antwerp's Zurenborg district, the hotel combines accommodations with community-oriented programming that includes art exhibitions, live music performances, yoga sessions, bicycle experiences, and rotating dining events. Its Mediterranean restaurant and bar, MEA, serves both hotel guests and local residents throughout the day.
Portugal gains two new member properties through MYTHIC SANA Downtown Suites and Montebelo Vista Alegre Lisboa Chiado Hotel. MYTHIC SANA Downtown Suites joins the Legend Collection with 48 guestrooms and suites situated in Lisbon's Baixa Pombalina district. The restored historic building incorporates personalized Golden Sleeves Butler service, offering customized itineraries and tailored in-suite experiences alongside dining at BLACK MOON Gastrobar and its Champagne Bar.
Italy also records two additions during the quarter. San Clemente Palace Venice joins the Legend Collection, while Teatro Luxury Apartments - Starhotels Collezione becomes part of Preferred Residences in Florence. Ireland expands the Lifestyle Collection through The Victoria Killarney, while Wynn Al Marjan Island joins the Legend Collection in the United Arab Emirates, broadening the company's Middle East portfolio.
The portfolio expansion supports Preferred Hotels & Resorts' broader objective of increasing its network of independent hospitality operators while maintaining a diverse collection across multiple travel segments. According to Lindsey Ueberroth, Chief Executive Officer of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, the newly added properties reflect distinctive local identities through design, cultural connections, wellness offerings, and service while expanding the variety of hospitality experiences available within the company's global portfolio.
The expansion also strengthens the company's loyalty ecosystem through I Prefer Hotel Rewards. Many of the newly added member properties participate in the points-based program, which serves more than six million enrolled travelers worldwide. Members earn points that can be redeemed for Reward Certificates, Titanium status, and other program benefits across participating hotels and resorts.
To support awareness of the new additions, Preferred Hotels & Resorts is offering both new and existing I Prefer Hotel Rewards members 2,500 bonus points for eligible stays at participating new member properties. The promotion applies to bookings completed by September 30, 2026, with stays valid through December 31, 2026.
The company's expansion strategy also extends to distribution and owner engagement. Travel advisors and agents can access participating hotels through Global Distribution Systems using the "PH" and "PV" chain codes, supporting broader booking accessibility across the travel trade. At the same time, Preferred Hotels & Resorts continues promoting membership opportunities for independent hotel owners and operators seeking to remain or become independent while accessing the company's global sales, marketing, and distribution platform.
Preferred Hotels & Resorts currently represents more than 625 hotels, resorts, residences, and hotel groups across 80 countries. Through its portfolio of curated collections, the company continues expanding its network of independent hospitality properties while maintaining quality standards through its Integrated Quality Assurance Program. The second-quarter additions further increase the geographic diversity of its portfolio, with Southeast Asia represented by Indonesia as part of the company's latest business development activity.
