Pangyo Gains New International Hotel as Hyatt Place Enters Seoul

News South Korea
Hyatt Hotels Corporation has officially opened Hyatt Place Seoul Pangyo, introducing the Hyatt Place brand to Seoul and expanding its presence in one of South Korea’s most important business and technology districts. Announced on June 17, the 204-room property is located in Pangyo, a district widely recognized as Korea’s leading IT and business hub, offering Hyatt access to a market supported by corporate travel, meetings, and innovation-driven economic activity.

The opening marks the first Hyatt Place hotel in Seoul and the first Hyatt Place property in South Korea. Positioned in Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, the hotel provides access to corporate offices, transportation links, retail destinations, dining venues, and lifestyle facilities throughout Pangyo and the greater Seoul metropolitan area.

For Hyatt, the development represents an expansion into a district that has become a focal point for technology companies and business operations. Pangyo has emerged as one of the country’s most dynamic centers for innovation, making it a strategic location for hospitality operators seeking to capture demand generated by business travelers, corporate events, and extended-stay guests.

The property has been designed around the Hyatt Place brand’s focus on intuitive spaces and functional accommodations. Hyatt Place Seoul Pangyo features 204 guestrooms, including Standard Rooms, Deluxe Rooms, Corner Suites, Residence Suites, and a Specialty Korean Suite. The room mix is intended to accommodate both short-term and long-term stays, allowing the hotel to serve a range of traveler profiles.

Each guestroom incorporates dedicated areas for sleeping, working, and relaxing, supporting the needs of travelers balancing business and personal activities during their stay. Select suites offer expanded living spaces and residential-style features, providing additional flexibility for guests requiring longer accommodations or larger room formats.

“We are delighted to welcome guests to Hyatt Place Seoul Pangyo, the first Hyatt Place hotel in South Korea,” said SM Kim, general manager of Hyatt Place Seoul Pangyo.

“Pangyo is one of Korea’s most important centers of technology, business and culture, and our hotel offers guests a seamless stay experience designed to support the needs of today’s multitasking traveler.”

The hotel’s business positioning extends beyond accommodations through a range of facilities designed to support meetings, networking, and corporate gatherings. Hyatt Place Seoul Pangyo includes a ballroom equipped with a media wall as well as flexible meeting rooms capable of hosting conferences, seminars, corporate functions, and private events.

The event spaces have been designed to accommodate a variety of formats, ranging from formal business programs to smaller gatherings. This flexibility allows the property to target multiple segments within Pangyo’s corporate ecosystem while serving organizations seeking venue options within the district.

Food and beverage offerings also play a role in the property’s business proposition. The Kitchen, the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant, features an open-kitchen concept and serves international and locally inspired dishes prepared with fresh ingredients. The venue is positioned to accommodate breakfast service, business meals, casual dining occasions, and private functions.

The hotel also introduces Sole Bar, which overlooks the Pangyo skyline and includes a private room for gatherings. Hyatt describes the venue as a setting suitable for networking activities, informal meetings, and after-work social occasions. The outlet offers handcrafted cocktails, curated wines, and premium spirits for hotel guests and local visitors.

Another distinctive feature is Sole House, located on the 17th floor. Designed as a penthouse-style venue with a residential atmosphere, the space offers panoramic city views and is situated adjacent to Sole Bar. Hyatt indicated that the venue can host private gatherings, customized experiences, and exclusive social events.

The combination of accommodations, dining facilities, meeting infrastructure, and event spaces reflects a strategy aimed at serving both transient travelers and the broader business community operating in Pangyo. By integrating hospitality and event capabilities within a single property, the hotel is positioned to capture demand from corporate clients, visiting professionals, and organizations conducting activities within the district.

Accessibility is another component of the hotel’s positioning. Hyatt Place Seoul Pangyo is situated near transportation connections and commercial facilities, allowing guests to move efficiently between business appointments, offices, and other destinations throughout the Seoul metropolitan area. The location supports the property’s role as a base for travelers visiting companies and institutions in the region.

The opening further strengthens Hyatt’s presence in South Korea while adding another property to its global Hyatt Place portfolio. The brand is known for combining contemporary design, practical amenities, and operational features intended to support modern travel patterns. Hyatt Place hotels are designed around distinct zones for work, rest, and leisure, alongside shared social spaces that facilitate interaction and productivity.

To coincide with the launch, World of Hyatt is offering members 500 Bonus Points for each qualifying stay at the property through its Be More Rewarded promotion. The offer is available from June 17 through September 30, 2026, and does not require registration. Eligible stays at Hyatt Place Seoul Pangyo can earn bonus points in addition to other available offers.

The opening comes as Hyatt continues to expand its global portfolio. As of March 31, 2026, Hyatt Hotels Corporation reported a portfolio of more than 1,500 hotels and all-inclusive properties across 83 countries. Hyatt Place is part of the company’s Essentials Portfolio, which includes brands such as Hyatt House, Hyatt Studios, Hyatt Select, Caption by Hyatt, Unscripted by Hyatt, and UrCove.

With the debut of Hyatt Place in Seoul, Hyatt has established a presence in a district that combines technology, business, and innovation activity within the South Korean market. The addition of Hyatt Place Seoul Pangyo expands accommodation capacity in the area while providing meeting, event, dining, and lodging facilities tailored to the needs of companies, professionals, and organizations operating in one of the country’s leading business hubs.
