Hotel Okura to open first resort property in Japan
The 58-key hotel will open in 2029.
Hotel Okura will open Japan’s first Okura Resort property in 2029. The Okura Resort Hakone Gora will be located in the well-known hot spring destination of Hakone, about 100 km from Tokyo.
On 11 July, Hotel Okura signed an operational management agreement with Nishimatsu Construction. Under the agreement, Nishimatsu Construction will develop and own the property, while Hotel Okura will manage it under The Okura Resort brand.
The Okura Resort Hakone Gora will feature 58 rooms with an average size of 63 sqm, each equipped with a private open-air bath.
Spanning 9,650 sqm, the hotel will have a West Wing with 12 rooms and an East Wing with 46 rooms. It will offer a fine-dining restaurant, a lounge, and a bar. For wellness amenities, the property will include a large bathing area and two treatment rooms.
