BANGKOK, Thailand — IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed Kimpton Phang Nga Natai Beach, a new-build luxury lifestyle resort developed in partnership with Natai Venture Co., Ltd., expanding the company's Kimpton portfolio in Thailand. Announced on 5 August 2026, the 150-key beachfront property is scheduled to open in 2028 and will introduce the Kimpton brand to Phang Nga Province.
The signing was announced by IHG Hotels & Resorts as part of its continued expansion of its luxury and lifestyle portfolio in Thailand. The project also increases Kimpton's global presence to more than 150 operating and pipeline hotels.
Located on Natai Beach in Phang Nga Province, the resort will become IHG's second signed property in the province following InterContinental Phang Nga Bay Resort. The destination is approximately 20 minutes from Phuket International Airport, while the upcoming Andaman International Airport in Phang Nga, targeted to open in 2032, is expected to enhance regional connectivity.
Kimpton Phang Nga Natai Beach will feature 150 guestrooms, suites, and villas surrounded by tropical landscapes. The resort has been planned with a range of facilities including all-day dining restaurants, beach and lobby bars, a spa, swimming pools, a fitness centre, a kids' club, and function spaces.
The beachfront development will provide direct access to Natai Beach. According to the project details, the resort will combine design-led experiences with elements that reflect the destination's character while offering accommodation and lifestyle facilities within the beachfront setting.
The latest signing expands Kimpton's presence in Thailand, where the brand currently operates Kimpton Kitalay Samui and Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok. Future Kimpton developments in the country are also planned for Bangkok, Chiang Rai, Hua Hin, Khao Yai, and Pattaya.
Pathana Jitsaereetham, Director, Development, Thailand, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said the company is pleased to introduce Kimpton to Natai Beach while expanding its luxury and lifestyle portfolio in Thailand, providing travellers with more choices across destinations in the country.
He said Kimpton Phang Nga Natai Beach represents IHG's second hotel signing in Phang Nga Province and forms part of the company's growth strategy. He added that Phang Nga is supported by infrastructure investment and improving connectivity, with the destination expected to attract increasing interest from both domestic and international travellers.
Pathana also said IHG and Natai Venture will work together to develop a resort intended to strengthen Natai Beach's position as a luxury lifestyle destination.
Naphat Boontanonda, Director of Natai Venture Co., Ltd., said Phang Nga is known for its natural landscapes, including beaches, limestone formations, and coastal surroundings. He said travellers are increasingly seeking authentic experiences together with lifestyle experiences, adding that Natai Beach is positioned to meet that demand.
Titiwat Kuvijitsuwan, Director of Natai Venture Co., Ltd. and Chief Executive Officer of Capstone Asset, the shareholder and development partner of Kimpton Phang Nga Natai Beach, said the company will work with IHG Hotels & Resorts to develop a lifestyle resort in Phang Nga while introducing a social and dining destination for visitors and the local community.
Capstone Asset has previously developed Kimpton Kitalay Samui, identified by IHG as the first Kimpton resort in Asia.
The Phang Nga project forms part of IHG's broader hotel portfolio in Thailand. The company currently operates 42 hotels across 11 brands in the country and has a further 39 properties in its development pipeline.
IHG stated that it remains committed to introducing new brands and new stay experiences across Thailand through continued hotel development. Within that pipeline, Kimpton Phang Nga Natai Beach becomes the second IHG resort signed in Phang Nga Province after InterContinental Phang Nga Bay Resort.
The resort is scheduled to open in 2028 as a beachfront luxury lifestyle property under the Kimpton brand. Through the partnership between IHG Hotels & Resorts and Natai Venture Co., Ltd., the development adds another Kimpton project to the company's Thailand pipeline while expanding the brand's presence in southern Thailand and increasing Kimpton's global portfolio to more than 150 operating and pipeline hotels.
