CHICAGO, September 30, 2026 – Hyatt Hotels Corporation has appointed Amar Lalvani as its first-ever Chief Creative Officer, expanding his responsibilities beyond his existing position as President & Creative Director of Hyatt’s Lifestyle Group. Effective immediately, Lalvani will remain part of Hyatt’s senior leadership team and report to Mark Hoplamazian, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer.
The newly established enterprise role places creative and brand leadership across Hyatt’s global portfolio, with Lalvani working alongside company leaders, developers, creative teams and hotel owners. The role is designed to strengthen how Hyatt defines and develops its brands through design, experience and culture as the company continues its growth.
Lalvani’s expanded responsibilities will focus on sharpening the positioning of individual Hyatt brands and translating those identities into the physical and experiential elements of its hotels. His work will span decisions involving design, guest experiences and the cultural dimensions through which each brand is expressed.
For Hyatt’s development network, the appointment also establishes a direct connection between enterprise-level brand thinking and the teams responsible for bringing individual properties and concepts to market. Lalvani will work with developers and hotel owners as part of the broader effort to connect brand strategy with the experiences delivered across Hyatt properties.
Mark Hoplamazian said Lalvani brings experience in identifying what distinguishes a brand, understanding consumer relevance and translating those insights into hospitality experiences. Hoplamazian also linked the expanded role to Hyatt’s objective of becoming more brand-focused, noting that brand development involves decisions ranging from building design to the experiences delivered by hotel colleagues.
The appointment follows Hyatt’s acquisition of Standard International in 2024, which brought Lalvani into the company and established the foundation of Hyatt’s Lifestyle Group. Lalvani was subsequently appointed President & Creative Director of the newly established group, with the team behind The Standard and Bunkhouse Hotels becoming part of its New York City-based operations.
Lalvani brings more than 25 years of hospitality experience to the enterprise position. Earlier in his career, he led global development for W Hotels. He later acquired The Standard brand and established Standard International, where he helped expand The Standard from a small hotel collection into a global brand.
Under Standard International, Lalvani also expanded the company through Bunkhouse Hotels and developed additional concepts including The StandardX and The Manner. His background combines hotel development, brand creation and the scaling of hospitality concepts across markets.
Lalvani said his expanded role would focus on making Hyatt’s purpose more distinct and relevant through its individual brands. He described the company’s hotels, brands and people as the foundation for creating greater clarity around what distinguishes each brand and translating those characteristics into the details of the experience.
Hyatt’s portfolio included more than 1,500 hotels and all-inclusive properties across 83 countries and six continents as of June 30, 2026. Its brand portfolio spans five categories: Luxury, Lifestyle, Inclusive, Classics and Essentials.

With Lalvani retaining leadership of Hyatt’s Lifestyle Group while taking on the newly created enterprise position, his responsibilities now extend across the company’s broader brand portfolio and its development ecosystem.
