NEW YORK, August 18, 2026 – Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, part of Accor, has entered Thailand with the opening of Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit, developed in partnership with Asset World Corp Public Company Limited (AWC). Located in Bangkok’s Sukhumvit neighborhood, the 474-key property comprises 416 guestrooms and 58 suites, alongside dining, wellness, meetings and events facilities.
The opening marks the first Fairmont hotel in Thailand and forms part of the brand’s expansion across Asia. The Bangkok property follows the debuts of Fairmont Hanoi and Fairmont Tokyo, extending Fairmont’s presence into another major destination in the region.
For AWC, the project adds a global luxury hospitality brand to its portfolio and represents a further development within its partnership with Accor. The company described the hotel as being designed to connect travelers, businesses and local communities, while supporting its broader Sustainable Growth-led Strategy and its mission of “Building Better Future.”
Situated in Sukhumvit, Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit has been developed around a positioning as a “blooming stage” for celebration. Thai architectural and interior design practice PIA designed the property, incorporating references to Thailand’s botanical heritage throughout its interiors. The design includes a lobby chandelier inspired by the ratchaphruek, Thailand’s national flower, featuring 4,166 glass pieces and more than 35,000 crystal balls.
The property’s physical development combines guestrooms and public areas with facilities intended to support multiple hospitality and commercial use cases. Its spaces are designed to accommodate dining, social gatherings, wellness activities, celebrations and meetings, creating a broad operational mix within the hotel.
Dining is a central component of the development, with seven venues scheduled to unfold throughout 2026. Harper’s offers a North American-French brasserie concept, while AELA Social Bar operates as a daytime lounge before transitioning into a cocktail destination in the evening. CAYA Pool Club focuses on contemporary interpretations of Thai street food and creative cocktails.
Another addition is Wiggle Room, an entertainment destination scheduled to open in mid-September 2026. Located beneath the hotel and accessed through a private entrance at Sukhumvit Soi 18, the venue combines cabaret-inspired entertainment with live music, performances, cocktails and cuisine around a dedicated stage.
The hotel’s culinary portfolio is scheduled to expand again in December 2026, with two additional concepts across levels 32 and 33. The rooftop on level 33 will include one concept combining Italian and Japanese influences and another focused on contemporary Thai cuisine while drawing from Thailand’s gastronomic heritage.
Beyond food and beverage, the property incorporates wellness facilities through Fairmont’s “Wellness Without Walls” approach. Fairmont Spa takes inspiration from jasmine, a flower associated in the property’s concept with Thai hospitality and purity. Fairmont Studio provides facilities for yoga, cardio and strength training, while Fairmont Fit extends wellness programming beyond the dedicated fitness areas.
The hotel also establishes a substantial meetings and events proposition. More than 21,500 square feet, or 2,000 square meters, of flexible event space spans three dedicated floors. The facilities are configured for executive summits, international conferences, weddings, gala dinners, product launches, private events and other gatherings.
At the center of the meetings portfolio is the Signature Grand Ballroom, which features a 12-meter ceiling and dedicated arrival forecourt. The event offering also includes a second ballroom, seven breakout rooms, Couture Hall and additional meeting spaces.
The combination of guestrooms, event infrastructure, dining venues and wellness facilities gives Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit a diversified hospitality operating model within the Sukhumvit market. The property is also positioned to serve different accommodation and service requirements through Fairmont Gold, the brand’s “hotel within a hotel” concept.
Fairmont Gold includes a dedicated reception, an exclusive lounge offering food and beverage throughout the day, and a dedicated concierge team. The hotel also provides family accommodations and a Kids Club program, while pet-friendly amenities are available for companions weighing up to 30 kilograms.
Sustainability forms another component of the development. Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit has been designed to LEED Gold standards, incorporating biophilic design, water recycling, smart energy systems, enhanced indoor air quality, electric vehicle charging and a heat-reduction façade. These measures are aligned with AWC’s stated commitment to sustainability and its 3BETTERs pillars of Better Planet, Better People and Better Prosperity.
The opening also strengthens the existing relationship between AWC and Accor, with Fairmont becoming the latest global hospitality brand represented through AWC’s diversified portfolio. AWC works with international operators including Marriott International, IHG Hotels & Resorts, Nobu Hospitality, Okura Hotels, Banyan Tree, Meliá Hotels International, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, Accor and Hyatt.
For Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, the Bangkok opening adds Thailand to a regional expansion strategy that has already included Fairmont Hanoi and Fairmont Tokyo. The brand currently operates a portfolio of more than 90 hotels internationally and is part of Accor, which has more than 5,800 properties across over 110 countries.
Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit began accepting reservations for stays from August 18, 2026. The property participates in ALL Accor, the group’s booking and lifestyle loyalty platform, connecting the new Bangkok hotel with the wider Accor hospitality network.
