EVT Hotels & Resorts is expanding its Southeast Asia hotel portfolio with the planned development of Rydges Bangkok Sukhumvit, a 165-room property scheduled to open in early 2028 under a newly signed hotel management agreement. The Bangkok project follows the establishment of QT in Singapore and forms part of EVT’s international growth strategy.

The new hotel will be located in one of Bangkok’s established tourism and commercial precincts. The property is being developed as a newly constructed hotel and is planned to include signature food and beverage offerings, leisure facilities, a gym and a rooftop pool. These facilities are intended to support business and leisure demand in the market.

For EVT, the Bangkok agreement adds the Rydges brand to its Southeast Asian portfolio while extending the company’s international hospitality platform beyond its existing presence in Singapore. EVT operates through owned, managed and third-party management models, providing tailored solutions for asset owners while maintaining the individuality of individual properties.

The Rydges Bangkok Sukhumvit project also forms part of EVT’s broader investment in its development capabilities across Asia-Pacific. The company has strengthened its development function through senior appointments and expanded regional infrastructure as it works to identify and pursue additional growth opportunities across the region.

EVT Director of Hotels and Resorts Norman Arundel oversees the company’s development function. Newly appointed Chief Development Officer Brett Forer leads the development team and is responsible for identifying and driving growth opportunities across the Asia-Pacific region.

EVT has also established a Bangkok office as its regional hub for Asia. Newly appointed Executive Vice President Asia Harry Thaliwal leads the Bangkok office, while Senior Vice President of Development Asia Stella Blythe works alongside him to drive growth across Asia.

The expansion of EVT’s regional development structure provides the company with dedicated personnel and infrastructure in Bangkok while the Rydges project moves toward its planned opening in 2028. The Bangkok office forms part of EVT’s regional resources supporting its Asia growth ambitions.

EVT CEO Jane Hastings said the company’s strategy is focused not only on increasing its geographic footprint but also on introducing its brands to the region. She said EVT is supporting its brands across the region and highlighted the establishment of the Bangkok office as part of the resources committed to its regional strategy.

Hastings also identified Rydges Bangkok Sukhumvit as the next hotel following QT Singapore, while noting that EVT expects further development across Southeast Asia. She also referred to the senior talent appointed to support the company’s expansion strategy.

The Bangkok project represents another step in the development of EVT’s international hotel platform. The company is using its management capabilities and regional development structure to pursue opportunities across Asia-Pacific, with Rydges Bangkok Sukhumvit forming part of its Southeast Asian expansion.

Rydges Bangkok Sukhumvit will comprise 165 rooms when it opens. Its planned offering includes food and beverage outlets under the Rydges brand, leisure facilities, a gym and rooftop pool. The hotel’s location within a tourism and commercial precinct is also part of the development’s positioning for business and leisure demand.

The agreement is structured as a hotel management agreement, placing the property within EVT’s managed hotel portfolio. Alongside its managed operations, EVT also operates through owned and third-party management models, allowing the company to work with asset owners through different operating structures.

The expansion comes as EVT builds its presence beyond Australasia through its international hospitality platform. Following QT’s establishment in Singapore, the Bangkok development introduces another EVT brand into Southeast Asia and expands the company’s regional operating footprint.

The company’s regional strategy is supported by its development leadership, including Forer’s responsibility for Asia-Pacific growth opportunities and the Bangkok-based regional team led by Thaliwal. Blythe is responsible for working on growth across Asia as Senior Vice President of Development Asia.

With the Bangkok office serving as EVT’s regional hub, the company has established a local base to support its activities across Asia while continuing to develop its hotel portfolio. Rydges Bangkok Sukhumvit is scheduled to open in early 2028 as the next announced property in EVT’s Southeast Asian expansion following QT Singapore.

The project brings together EVT’s Rydges brand, hotel management capabilities and expanded Asia-Pacific development infrastructure in a single Bangkok development. The 165-room hotel is planned to offer accommodation alongside food and beverage, leisure and fitness facilities when it opens.

EVT’s investment in brands, development capability and regional platforms is part of its stated commitment to hotel growth. The company is continuing to use its owned, managed and third-party management models as it expands its international hospitality platform across Asia-Pacific.
