Capella Hotels and Resorts debuts in Japan

Its new property, Capella Kyoto, is an 89-key luxury hotel.

Capella Kyoto, an 89-key luxury hotel, is scheduled to open on 22 March, marking Capella Hotels and Resorts’ inaugural property in Japan.

Located in the heart of Gion, Kyoto’s geisha district, the hotel is part of a three-part development along Shinmichi Street, alongside the restored Miyagawa-cho Kaburenjo Theatre and a new community centre.

The property’s 89 rooms include 29 suites, six of which are onsen suites. Other amenities include restaurants, a bar, a café, a spa, and meeting venues.

“Kyoto is one of the world’s greatest cradles of craft, ritual, and tradition, and Capella Kyoto has been conceived to honour that legacy in full. Japan has long been a destination we have deeply admired, and we have been intentional about introducing our brand here,” said Clive Edwards, Senior Vice President of Operations at Capella Hotels and Resorts.

Capella Hotels and Resorts is a luxury hospitality brand owned by Capella Hotel Group, with a portfolio of properties across Thailand, China, Vietnam, Singapore, Australia, Taiwan, Indonesia, Japan, and Saudi Arabia.
