Ho Chi Minh City hits 6.58 million int’l tourist arrivals in 10M 2025
Domestic arrivals hit 33.06 million, making up 66.2% of the year’s target.
Ho Chi Minh City recorded over 6.58 million international arrivals in the first 10 months of 2025, reaching 65.9% of the year’s target, according to the municipal Department of Tourism.
Meanwhile, domestic arrivals fulfilled 66.2% of the year’s target, totaling 33.08 million. Total tourism revenue for the period hit VND 208.06 trillion (approximately US$7.88 billion), equivalent to 71.7% of the year’s target of VND 290 trillion (approximately US$10.98 billion).
Notable performance was also seen in October, when the city’s public transport system served an estimated 55.1 million passengers. The Ben Thanh–Suoi Tien metro line carried 1.8 million passengers, while air transport handled 3.3 million passengers.
According to Agoda’s Country Director for Vietnam, Vu Ngoc Lam, simplified entry procedures and improved accessibility have contributed to the rising number of visitors from Europe and other distant markets.
In addition, the expanded visa exemption policy, which took effect on 15 August, has created new opportunities and made Vietnam’s destinations, including HCM City, more accessible and attractive to European tourists.
The visa exemption program allows visa-free entry for citizens of the following countries for up to 45 days, valid for three years until 14 August 2028:
