Changi Airport Group and Plaza Premium Group have announced plans to jointly operate a new private terminal at Changi Airport, with opening scheduled for mid-2027.
The project will redevelop the former Commercially Important Persons (CIP) terminal site at the southern end of Terminal 2, transforming it into a new premium gateway integrated with the airport’s existing Hub & Spoke lifestyle cluster.
The upcoming private terminal is designed to provide a fully personalised journey for premium travellers, allowing passengers to complete pre-flight processes in a private setting before being facilitated to their flights. The experience will include smooth transfers to boarding gates as well as convenient access to the airport’s retail offerings.
Facilities at the terminal will include a deluxe lounge, bar, private suites, and bespoke dining options, combining comfort and privacy within an efficient airport environment. The terminal will also feature a high-end event space designed for larger groups, private gatherings, and travelling entourages, with a focus on discretion and flexibility.
Beyond the terminal, the development will introduce a curated selection of dining and wellness concepts located nearby, expanding the range of hospitality offerings available to passengers using the facility.
Mr. Ang Siew Min, Senior Vice President, Airport Operations Development and Airport Operations Services at Changi Airport Group, said the development reflects changing traveller expectations, with more passengers seeking personalised premium experiences beyond traditional lounge access.
The private terminal will be jointly operated by Changi Airport Group and Plaza Premium Group, a global provider of airport hospitality and passenger service solutions. Plaza Premium Group operates an extensive network of airport lounges worldwide and will contribute its expertise in delivering end-to-end passenger experiences.
Ms. Mei Mei Song, Chief Transformation Officer at Plaza Premium Group, said the partnership aims to deliver a consistent and elevated experience for premium travellers through a combination of operational excellence and hospitality expertise.
Construction for the redevelopment has begun, with the new private terminal expected to open in mid-2027. Once completed, it will introduce an additional premium option at Changi Airport, strengthening its hospitality offerings for travellers seeking privacy, comfort, and personalised service.
