BANGKOK, July 22, 2026Centara Hotels & Resorts has announced the launch of Centara Reserve Krabi, the second property under its luxury Centara Reserve brand, with an opening scheduled for December 2026. The multi-billion-baht development marks another step in the company's premium growth strategy as it expands its presence in Thailand's luxury hospitality segment while strengthening Krabi's position as an emerging destination for high-value international travel.

The new resort follows the success of Centara Reserve Samui, which debuted in December 2021 as the inaugural property under the Reserve collection. By introducing a second Reserve destination, Centara continues to invest in the premium hospitality market while positioning the brand for long-term expansion across Thailand and selected international markets.

Centara said the investment reflects growing opportunities within Thailand's luxury tourism sector, where affluent travellers are increasingly seeking immersive experiences, longer stays and destination-driven travel. These travel patterns continue to support stronger average daily rates (ADR) and reinforce the commercial attractiveness of luxury hospitality developments.

Centara Reserve Krabi will be developed on the site of the former Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Krabi at Pai Plong Bay. The property is undergoing a complete transformation into the world's second Centara Reserve, representing one of the company's major luxury investments designed to address evolving guest expectations while capitalising on Krabi's growing international appeal.

The development forms part of Centara's broader business strategy to strengthen its position in the premium hospitality sector through high-value assets located in destinations with long-term growth potential. Rather than focusing solely on accommodation, the Reserve brand centres on personalised service, cultural immersion and locally inspired experiences that align with changing preferences among luxury travellers.

Centara's Reserve concept was created for destinations considered iconic, with each property designed to establish stronger cultural connections through tailored guest experiences. The company positions the brand around authenticity and personalised hospitality instead of conventional luxury offerings.

Consumer preferences continue to support this strategy. The American Express Global Travel Trends Report found that 59% of affluent travellers define luxury through meaningful human interactions rather than material indulgence. This shift has contributed to increasing demand for hospitality products that emphasise authentic experiences and local engagement.

Centara introduced the Reserve brand with the opening of Centara Reserve Samui in December 2021. The property presented a new interpretation of Thai luxury through storytelling, personalised hospitality and cultural immersion. Unlike many luxury hospitality brands that primarily target couples, Reserve was designed to accommodate both couples and families, including multi-generational travel experiences that remain relatively uncommon within the premium hotel segment.

The commercial performance of Centara Reserve Samui has reinforced the company's expansion plans. Since opening, the resort has received 28 international awards while consistently maintaining a five-out-of-five Tripadvisor rating. In 2025, the property achieved a 7.5% year-on-year increase in revenue, supported by continued ADR growth, demonstrating the commercial viability of Centara's luxury positioning.

These operating results provide a foundation for the company's decision to expand the Reserve portfolio with a second property in Krabi, where demand for premium leisure travel continues to strengthen.

Centara identified Krabi as one of Thailand's most promising luxury destinations due to increasing visitor demand, longer average lengths of stay and favourable ADR potential. The province has attracted growing interest from international travellers seeking quieter, experience-led destinations while maintaining access to Thailand's well-established tourism infrastructure.

Located on Thailand's Andaman coast, Krabi is recognised for destinations including Railay Bay and Maya Bay, along with its limestone cliffs, white-sand beaches and turquoise waters. Combined with Southern Thailand's cultural heritage and a slower-paced environment, these characteristics have contributed to the province's appeal among travellers seeking privacy and authentic experiences.

Centara believes these destination attributes position Krabi within the global "quiet luxury" travel trend, where travellers increasingly favour exclusive environments over more crowded resort markets. Compared with neighbouring Phuket, Krabi offers a more intimate atmosphere while continuing to attract premium international leisure demand.

The new Centara Reserve Krabi will be situated within a secluded beachfront cove accessible by boat, further reinforcing its positioning as an exclusive luxury destination. The resort will feature 120 accommodations comprising guestrooms, suites and pool villas ranging from 75 to 388 square metres.

Facilities will include lagoon swimming pools, Reserve Spa Cenvaree, three restaurants and three bars. Among the dining concepts will be Salt Society Beach Bar & Kitchen, which will form part of the property's food and beverage offering.

Guest experiences will be built around personalised welcome rituals, bespoke itineraries and locally inspired activities coordinated by dedicated Reserve Hosts. These services are intended to create stronger connections between visitors and the destination while differentiating the Reserve experience within the competitive luxury hospitality market.

The opening of Centara Reserve Krabi also represents a strategic repositioning of an existing hospitality asset into a higher-value luxury product. By redeveloping the former Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Krabi into a Reserve property, Centara aims to align the asset with changing market demand while strengthening its long-term premium portfolio.

Beyond Krabi, Centara plans to continue expanding the Reserve brand into additional destinations as part of its long-term growth strategy. While the first two Reserve properties are beachfront resorts, the company is evaluating opportunities to introduce the brand into gateway cities, including Bangkok, as well as selected destinations in Japan and Europe.

This expansion strategy signals Centara's intention to broaden the Reserve portfolio beyond resort destinations while maintaining its focus on iconic locations capable of supporting premium hospitality experiences. The addition of Centara Reserve Krabi marks another milestone in the company's long-term investment strategy as it expands its presence in the global luxury hospitality market.
