NOT A HOTEL launches its first hotel brands
The new brands will build its first properties in Kyoto and Okinawa.
NOT A HOTEL, a Japan-based lifestyle and hospitality company, just launched its first hotel brands, HERITAGE and vertex.
Currently, the company’s portfolio only includes villas for shared ownership and these two new brands will offer hotels for public use.
The inaugural HERITAGE by NOT A HOTEL project will be a conversion of the former temple lodging at the UNESCO World Heritage Site Tō-ji Temple (Kyōō Gokoku-ji) in Kyoto. NOT A HOTEL will announce more details about the construction and operations schedule in the future.
Meanwhile, the first vertex by NOT A HOTEL project will be located in Okinawa, to be designed by the renowned Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA). It will be ZHA’s first hotel project in Japan.
The hotel will be situated in a 25,322 square meter site surrounded by forest and white sand beaches.
“The stepped canopies of the hotel gently transition from the unique geology of the shoreline to the dense vegetation of the rain forest—giving uninterrupted views of the ocean and a deep connection to the surrounding environment, while providing a sense of privacy that enriches user experience and charts a journey of discovery through the varied natural ecosystems of the region,” Ludovico Lombardi, Project Director at ZHA said.
