Tokyo tops Lunar New Year travel destinations this year
Agoda data shows four Japanese cities among the top 10 Lunar New Year destinations.
Tokyo led the top Lunar New Year destination this year, according to online travel platform Agoda.
The Japanese city is followed by Bangkok (Thailand), Taipei (Taiwan), Osaka (Japan), and Seoul (South Korea).
Fukuoka (Japan) comes next at sixth place followed by Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Sapporo (Japan), Singapore, and Hong Kong.
The data is based on accommodation searches from December 2025 for check-ins during the Lunar New Year.
"The Lunar New Year is all about adventure and discovery, especially in the Year of the Horse. It's exciting to see travelers embracing both traditional favorites and new experiences during one of Asia's top travel moments,” Andrew Smith, Senior Vice President for Supply at Agoda said.
