Vietnam’s domestic travel demand rises ahead of Tet: Agoda
Local accommodation searches between October and November 2025 for the Tet 2026 period rose 22%.
Vietnamese travelers are increasingly looking at local destinations to celebrate Tet, data from Agoda revealed.
Accommodation searches made by travelers in Vietnam between October and November 2025 for stays from 14–22 February 2026 showed a surge in interest for both domestic and international travel, with domestic trips rising 22% and international trips increasing 7%.
Da Lat remains the top domestic destination for Tet 2026, with a 44% increase in searches, followed by Phu Quoc (41%). Other popular domestic destinations include Nha Trang, Da Nang, and Vung Tau, which saw a 31% rise in searches.
For outbound trips, Bangkok tops the list, followed by Singapore (+25%), Tokyo, Hong Kong (+46%), and Bali.
“Tet is one of the most meaningful times of the year for Vietnamese travelers. With an especially long break this year, it becomes the perfect moment for families and friends to begin new journeys—whether exploring the beauty of Vietnam or venturing abroad,” said Vu Ngoc Lam, Country Director at Agoda Vietnam.
