Hospitality boom: Japan welcomes new hotels and luxury resorts in Q4

Tourism growth and brand expansion are driving the launch of high-end and lifestyle properties nationwide.

Japan is seeing a surge in hospitality openings, with several new hotels and luxury resorts launched in Q4.

According to Dublin-based market research firm Research and Markets, the Japanese hotel market is projected to reach US$26.85 billion by 2033, up from US$23.92 billion in 2024, with a CAGR of 1.29% from 2025 to 2033.

This growth is being fueled by government initiatives, rising inbound tourism, corporate travel, and increasing demand for unique accommodations and luxury experiences.

Here are some of the notable hotels and luxury resorts that have launched in Q4 2025:

FUFU Tokyo Ginza

Kato Pleasure Group’s FUFU Japan luxury resorts collection opened its 9th location in Ginza.

FUFU Tokyo Ginza offers 34 guest rooms that feature a private garden and natural hot spring baths. It is the first property in the collection launched in a major city.

The property also offers food and beverage (F&B) services with GINZA GAYU, an 86-seat restaurant and SUSHI GINGA, an 8-seat counter type dining both serving Japanese cuisine.

Garner Hotel Kyoto Shijo Karasuma

IHG Hotels & Resorts opened its new 103-room property in Kyoto, Garner Hotel Kyoto Shijo Karasuma.

The hotel, which is the first in Kyoto, joins Garner’s portfolio in Japan, which includes three operating hotels in Osaka.

It is designed for leisure travelers, offering 95 single rooms for solo travelers. The hotel is also conveniently located near Gojo Station and just five minutes from Shijo Station.

JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo

Marriott International’s JW Marriott brand unveiled its second property in Japan located in Takanawa Gateway City in Tokyo.

JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo offers 200 keys, as well as various amenities including dining establishments, a spa, a fitness center, and event spaces spanning 1,140 sqm.
