The report organizes sustainability practices into key themes—such as single-use plastics, climate action, and community engagement—with each chapter offering a summary of findings, detailed analytics, and visual charts for each best practice. Practices are further categorized based on adoption rates:
  • Common practices (75% and above)
  • Established practices (50%–74%)
  • Emerging practices (25%–49%)
  • Innovative practices (less than 25%)

The 2024 edition draws on data from approximately 20,000 hotels across 50 countries, assessing 80 best practices. Analyses also consider hotel profiles, including geographic location, service type, STR chain scale, and hotel type, enabling a nuanced view of sustainability trends across different market segments.
