Etihad, Vietnam Airlines launch new codeshare partnership

The new partnership will complement its recently launched frequent flyer partnership.

UAE's flag carrier, Etihad Airways, has teamed up with Vietnam Airlines to launch a new codeshare partnership which will enhance Etihad's recently launched Abu Dhabi-Hanoi service.

The codeshare partnership, which will be implemented gradually, will enable Etihad flyers to access popular destinations in Vietnam and across Asia with only a single ticket for the entire trip, one check-in and automatic baggage transfer throughout.

Meanwhile, Vietnam Airlines passengers will gain access to six destinations beyond Abu Dhabi including Athens, Addis Ababa, Bahrain, Muscat, Cairo and Istanbul.

“Combined with our frequent flyer partnership, which enables loyalty members of both airlines to earn and redeem miles across our combined global networks, this collaboration underscores our commitment to providing our guests with greater flexibility, broader reach, and superior travel experiences,” Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer at Etihad Airways said.

The frequent flyer partnership which was launched in July 2025 allows Etihad Guest and Lotus Miles members to accrue and use their rewards when flying with either carrier.
